Blogging Tips: Easy Backlinks to 25 Social Sites

Submitted by | 14,768 views

Easy Backlinks to 25 Social SitesOnline Wikipedia defines Backlinks as “incoming links to a website or web page. Inbound links were originally important (prior to the emergence of search engines) as a primary means of web navigation; today their significance lies in search engine optimization (SEO). The number of backlinks is one indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page (for example, this is used by Google to determine the PageRank of a webpage). Outside of SEO, the backlinks of a webpage may be of significant personal, cultural or semantic interest: they indicate who is paying attention to that page. In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node.Backlinks are also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.”

Backlinks are very important to Blogging. These will define the “life and death” of your blog.  They are the playmaker when it comes to how your site or blog will show up on search results of  Google, Ning, Yahoo or other popular search engines. The more backlinks you have, the higher you rank in the search engine results but of course with certain qualifications like quality and content of your site or post. Every backlink is like a vote in favor to your site or blog and the more votes you have, the more the search engines loves to show your page on top of the search results. With Backlinks,  you are also able to track other websites or blogs that are linking to your posts and pages.

How To Get Backlinks

I can enumerate some of the ways of get backlinks. How much backlinks you need depends how much you want your blog or site to perform. I suggest that you should do your best and get as many backlinks as you can and set aside or allocate enough time to do it on a regular basis. (Trust me, it will work, but I myself find this task really laborious and eats a lot of my time). So here we go:

  1. Commenting on blogs. Make sure that the blogs that you are commenting are relevant to the content of your blog. WordPress and Blogger blogs usually has a form (see below) where you can put the url or web address that will link back to your site or blog.
  2. Submit Your Sites to Directories. My tip is to find directories that have high page ranks.
  3. Write Articles and Submit to Article Directories . There are a lot around and the most popular ones are Ezines, Articlebase, and so on. Just Google it. Make sure you put a link on your article pointing to your site or blog.
  4. Forum Posting. Sign up to popular forum sites and set up your signature. Put your url that points to blogs/sites.

As you can see I am a great believer in commenting on blogs. It is not only for the backlinks but to connect with the writer of the blog. Over my years of blogging I have become part of a great community of bloggers this way. We then also tend to follow each other on social networks and help each other out. I came across your blog link on Bizoppers, by the way.

I do a lot of commenting on blogs mostly when I am entering giveaway’s already. That software sounds like something that could get you in to trouble with google if you’re not careful so I’ll do it the hard slow old fashioned way.

  • Thank you for this great read! Backlinks are vital to a website’s ranking on search engines. I am glad that you have nailed that notion down in your post. I will check out socialmonkee today! Thank you for the tip. I too wish that I had more time to post comments on blogs as they help enhance the article for the author.
