Internet Marketing: Changing Education Paradigms
Before you watch the video below, I just want to share a bit of information about what I learn from an internet marketing seminar. The most controversial question that the speaker asked was this : Does school teach you how to make money? Of course, the answer is ”No”. We were taught how to earn good grades! How to pass the subject so we can get a diploma. Only then, we have the chance to make money. These are some other concepts that we develop at schools:
1. Keep Quiet. Don’t ask many questions.
2. Don’t talk to your friends. Don’t copy. No cheating
3. Parents tell their kids: Why are you not as good as your friend? Why are you slow?
4. Only a “B”? If you are not perfect, it is not good enough.
5. Don’t play yet. do your homework.
6. Whoever has the most toy wins.
7. you can add the rest…you were a student just like me right? List them on the comment box below.
In internet marketing, it is better to ask questions. It is not wise to work alone. We need teamwork. We need to discuss, exchange notes, mingle, and form joint ventures. It is a must to join social networking sites for internet marketers like SWOM and Bizoppers. Personally, I launched my internet adventure at SWOM and I get to know a lot of top marketers on that site. They became my close contacts and we chat there almost everyday.
Moving on, it is about time to change our thinking and embrace change. Copying to make more money in general sense is not prohibited in internet marketing. We are good at ”cut and paste” skills. It doesn’t have to be perfect. you don’t have to study how it works. i.e. how is a splash page or autoresponder made? You don’t have to understand why something works or need to know everything before doing it. What matter is, just do it and you make money out of it!
We were told that Only when you play do you learn and grow. We need to do something different. Let’s do things differently and let’s have fun. In internet marketing, we only use the tools we need, not all.
